AnyMind Group [TSE:5027], a BPaaS company for marketing, e-commerce and digital transformation, has today announced its support for the development of the English-language website for Japan Airlines’ “JAL Wagyu Souvenir Service”. The website enables international travelers visiting Japan to purchase premium Japanese beef online and bring it home with them on select Japan Airlines (JAL) flights from May 26, 2025.
Meeting the growing demand for Japanese food souvenirs
Interest in Japanese cuisine is rising globally in tandem with the growing number of overseas visitors to Japan. Among these culinary offerings, Wagyu beef is particularly renowned for its rich marbling and exceptional flavor, earning recognition as a luxury protein around the world.
Despite the strong desire among many travelers to bring authentic Wagyu home, challenges such as lack of information, language and payment barriers, and complex procedures for bringing meat across borders have hindered purchases.
Creating a seamless Wagyu shopping experience for international travelers
The JAL Wagyu Souvenir Service is available to international travelers flying from Tokyo Haneda or Narita airports to the U.S. or Singapore on JAL-operated flights. Travelers can pre-purchase Wagyu beef while in Japan and receive their purchase at the airport before departure. The service now includes Hida beef, in addition to currently available Kagoshima Kuroge Wagyu and Hokkaido Wagyu.
To enhance convenience, purchases made through this service are exempt from excess baggage fees and are packed separately, ensuring a stress-free souvenir experience.
The launch of the English site enables smoother access for non-Japanese speakers and is part of JAL’s broader efforts to offer travelers both a memorable experience in Japan and a lasting connection to Japanese flavors after returning home.
Future expansion plans
JAL plans to expand the Wagyu selection further and explore cross-border sales of additional premium Japanese foods such as fresh seafood and branded rice. The initiative aims to share the best of Japan’s food culture with a global audience.
